Looking back on my photographic work since 2012 I’ve got to the point now where
I feel I’ve amassed a good range of these pseudo-mythological characters. There
are probably a couple more female characters to do, then I will turn my attention
to the male characters.
I was asked recently why I used masks that are obviously masks in my
photographs, rather than using some digital manipulation to produce monstrous
photo-realistic visages like those produced by special effects in films and TV.
The thing is that I like masks, I like the…
I’ve started putting my ideas together for the next series of artwork, which will probably consist of a lino print as well as a series of photographs.
It’s all based around another imagined mythological character which I haven’t thought of a name for yet. There are some visual similarities…
Well, it’s come a long way from the first scribbled sketches I posted on this blog in January – the first 13ʺ × 10ʺ fine art giclée print is now up for sale in the online shop.
I’ve never tried to sell photographs before on the online shop, so it's all a bit of an experiment. It’s…
About 3 weeks ago I posted some rough sketches and notes on this blog for a new project called “The Blindfolded Seeress”.
I’m happy to say that the first stage of the project is complete, and you can see the first five images in my photography gallery.

The starting point was Pythia, the Oracle of Delphi, but I've also been researching Veleda (possibly a Latin rendering of Veleta), a Bructerian Seeress mentioned…
Give me your Christmas money!
Er… that is to say:
As promised some time ago, I’ve reduced all the prices of the limited edition hand-made lino prints available at my online shop for quick sale to clear some space in my studio and pay for some new art supplies.
Germseed CDs and Medea Postcards…
I’ve been reviewing the masks I made over 2012-2013.
The masks were primarily made as costume/props for my photographs, but in some cases they have almost become pieces of artwork in themselves.
The earliest one is the plainest: an initial experimentation, white with coloured lips. I…
A few weeks ago I bought myself a 3D printer kit. The idea behind this purchase is:
I should learn about this cool new technology,
It’ll be useful as a tool for my artwork,
It’ll be a fun toy.
I’ve been putting off starting to assemble it because I’ve been busy redesigning this…
