I am doing my 'Oxbow' paintings. I listen to Oxbow on headphones and make collage paint works. These are always 6 inches square and worked on always listening to Oxbow.
I am also continuing the Text work and preparing for Open studios this weekend.
I have added a poll to make our discusion interactive a bit more.

It's not too clear from the original post, but lazrs3 is refering to the painters Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud. I only know this because I know the contents of his bookshelves.

ah - the difficult "we hope you like our new jazz-funk direction" stage heh. -cough- actually made me laugh out loud. it's not that obscure in style!.. just unfamiliar territory. It's not too clear from the original post, but lazrs3 is refering to the painters Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud. I only know this because I know the contents of his bookshelves. yea, psilonaut pointed that out to me yesterday. my bad. i'll check out those links, too. thanks.

Am back on with Text work. Oxbow series on halt till the weekend when I can get some spraymount.
The Open studio response to my text work was favourable. So that's good.

Got into video-editing at last. Don't know if it really has artistic merit, but it's a laugh and it's creative. Currently working on 'The Griner Bros.' DVD... entitled 'Filthy Bluegrass'.

I've always wanted to have a go at using video, but since I don't have a video camera of any kind I've never been able to.
I have pretentions about being a more obscure and alternative version of some horrible Lynch/Cronenberg/Floria-Sigismondi video hybrid.
One day I'll get hold of a video camera and inflict it on all of you.

I've had to be a right jack-of-all-trades: filming, 'scripting', acting, editing. Most of the camerawork has been carried out by girlfriends of the band, drafted in and trained up in a matter of minutes, because I'm mostly in shot, playing an instrument or larking about with the other Griners.
I'd like to get the chance to be a bit arty with my shots, but unfortunately I can't be everywhere at once. Loving the editing process though, and digital video is pretty easy to get used to while giving you creative freedom.
I'm starting to plan a new project, which I'll approach in true auteur fashion - re-writing script after script, hurling abuse at the actors and crew, and nearly killing the 'star' by forcing them to perform some horrendous stunt involving a milk bottle full of petrol and a live pig.

Working on a short (15min) doc about an art director/ production designer and his role in filmmaking. It's just uni related, nothing fancy.
The other things is figuring out what to do with an interview we shot august 2004. I never did anything with the footage, since back then i had bigger - legal - things to worry about (we were taken into custody for 26 hours on the insane suspicion of 'stealing state secrets').
And then there's always that short film about sex, perversity and (mental) illness that's been under construction since the day i was born.
