What's The Best Film You've Seen Past Or Present?

This is a very old thread, but I'd just like to put in a word for Babette's Feast, which is basically a much-more-profound and better-made version of Chocolat; and City of God, which in some ways is a much-more-profound and better-made version of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (although that's a film I like very much).

Also, Spirited Away, which I just watched again recently: visually staggering and symbolically profound, although the last ten or fifteen minutes are a little bit weaker than the rest.
