The Procession, Part I (England’s Dark Dreaming № 13)

This is the thirteenth large-scale charcoal drawing in my England’s Dark Dreaming series.
This is the first in an embedded mini-series of “Procession” drawings.
Two figures dominate the foreground, the one on the left is the main male character. The female figure is not represented in any other drawing in this series.
In the mid-ground, between the two foreground figures, a third figure is just visible in near-silhouette, wearing an antlered headdress similar to that found at the Mesolithic site at Star Carr in North Yorkshire. This mysterious figure is also part of the Procession.
