Bone Mask 01

Bone Mask 01 is the first experiment in an extended series of photographs based around masks, spurred on by the incidental use of a blank Venetian volto mask in some of my Medea photographs from 2011.
The Bone Mask is the first mask I created in 2012. It's fairly simple — just a volto mask painted up to resemble the texture of bone, plus a set of lips.
The purpose of this first photoshoot was just to get a feeling for how the masks would work on camera under photography lights. I was fairly pleased with the results, and I also learnt a few lessons for future photographs with masks.
Expect to see the Bone Mask appear again later in 2012.
