A 3D Printer

a box of unassembled pieces of my 3D printer

A few weeks ago I bought myself a 3D printer kit. The idea behind this purchase is:

  1. I should learn about this cool new technology,
  2. It’ll be useful as a tool for my artwork,
  3. It’ll be a fun toy.

I’ve been putting off starting to assemble it because I’ve been busy redesigning this website, but today I’m going to make a start.

I should state that assembling this 3D printer is not just a matter of snapping together a few parts, but will involve several days worth of work including soldering, but I think it will be worth it.

I’ve got an idea that involves printing numerous small bird skulls for use as props in a series of mythology-themed photographs, so that will be my first project should I manage to put it together successfully.
