My artwork in 2024

The four photographic pieces completed in 2024 - individual image descriptions can be found in the text that follows

All-in-all 2024 has not been a very productive year in terms of artwork - mainly because of too much time and headspace spent in moving to a new home in Hastings, on top of my day job.

I completed four main pieces of artwork, all photographic pieces for my Acid Renaissance series (click a thumbnail to go to the respective gallery page for that piece):

Two figures stand close together in semi-darkness lit by a single light source above them to the right. The figure on the left is at a 45 degree angle to us and holds a sword upright in their right hand, the figure on the right is facing us directly and holds a small heart-shaped mirror in their left hand, directly pointed at us. A female-presenting figure is sitting on the ground in front of an old brick wall amongst the fallen sycamore leaves. Their hair is dark and their eye sockets are black. Over their left shoulder is draped a length of bright red fabric that pools on the floor in front of them. In their right hand, which is lifted and presented to us, are two eyeballs. An androgynous figure is standing facing us, their arms bent at the elbows and spread wide. They are clothed in white rags, with green stains that seem to have seeped upwards from the ground. I also did eight sessions of life-drawing over the course of the year - probably slightly fewer than 2023, but enough to not feel out-of-practice, which is good because drawing is going to be a major part of my artwork in 2025 (I’ll probably blog about my artwork plans for 2025 in a few days time).
